PREVIOUSLY… Well… Clarice Ferguson had progressed sufficiently through the X-Men training sessions to be assigned to an active team by Emma Frost, and she chose the XSE California, operating under the cover of being a branch of Mutants Sans Frontiers. Paige and Monet met Dakota Rawling, the Lieutenant in charge of LAPD’s Mutant Affairs department, and potentially made an enemy of her whilst they were waiting for news on Marcus Findlay, a reveller who had somehow been injected with MGH whilst in the Haven Centre and had subsequently burst into flames. Rick and Karl found solace in each other’s company following the disappearance of their brothers-- having only each other to turn to, considering the rest of the world believes their brothers dead. Voodoo’s less than subtle approach with Paige regarding her absentee boyfriend made Paige refocus on her super-hero career (after a suitable period of crying and flying hormones). Monet discovered that Jubilee’s house is possibly being cased by someone who may want to do her harm-- and in the process discovered that her aunt may well be Monet’s biggest fan. Ecstasy found her place in the super-powered mafia of LA, helping to torture a petty drug dealer and land him in hospital where he caught the attention of Lieutenant Rawling. Realising she’s in over her head with what looks like a spree of killings, she calls in an expert to help-- Jamie Madrox, Private Investigator. I think that’s about it in a nutshell… so, more story!
